I did not have a roommate next semester, and I thoroughly enjoyed my solitude and freedom. This kid was supposed to be my roommate, but his visa got denied.

It will be an interesting experience. I prefer being alone, but it will be interesting to see how we get alone. My favorite kid at college is a Chinese dude who moved to California. He is very quiet and humble and innocent. A very likable person. I get the feeling that this African kid is also not engaged in degeneracy based on the Facebook conversations we've had. I think I will appreciate him.

Where is he from in Africa? I used to work with a lot of Africans. Some of them are ok. Although a lot of them claim to be MSc, PHd or all sorts of qualifications and most of them can't even work a lawnmower. We had one sacked for being tucked up on the car park sat next to our bosses landrover and the wall fast asleep in the middle of the day. One of the industrial estates we used to work at the one company there used to let us use their kitchen so we could make ourselves beans on toast or a can of soup or a pot noodle and get a cup of tea. Some stupid African decides to cook some sort of rotting rancid "bush fish" that his cousin smuggles through Heathrow once every 2 weeks in the microwave and several of the people in the office were literally vomiting from the smell. We got banned from the building after that and we had to pack a flask and sandwiches whenever we were working there. They also complained to the landlord about our company. We had another one who never turned up on time for work once in 2 years and made up endless lies to get away with it. We had several more Africans who did no work and would just sleep in the van and leave us to do the work of two people. We lost contracts because Africans were going to site and doing no work. We had another guy who plugged his phone into a computer in a clients plant room to charge and crashed the buildings BMS causing £4000 of damage.

Lets not even get started on the shit storm a Nigerian IT contractor we had here caused...
