At this point I gave up on any future. I'm pushing 27. There is maybe some hope for you younger guys but for me unless I find someone by the end of the year its pretty much a little too late. I habitually still visit dating apps, when a match happen its either a scammer or just someone who accidentally swiped right. I keep hoping one day someone will like me and choose me but thats a massive cope atp and its the only delusion still keeping me alive.
I been working on beating as many games as possible before I die. Currently going through the Final Fantasy franchise, after that Kingdom Hearts and maybe some other JRPGs like Persona or Chrono Trigger. It's the only thing that relaxes me. At least those characters seem like genuine friends, the women are kind and innocent, everyone is full of passion and they show genuine emotion (which I never saw from anyone IRL if I'm gonna be honest).
So yeah I have completely given up on the real physical world and the hope of any semblance of normal life in the future.
I love the women in videogames, I cherish the friends that fight by my side, even the villains are relatable from their point of view most of the time.
But real life people will always be enemies to me. Every single one of them would bully me IRL. Even the few musicians or legendary game devs that we love and respect would hate us, bully us, or at the very least gaslight us or dislike us IRL. Its the sad truth but reality no less. And with that I'm going back to playing FF 13 Lightning Returns.
If only Vanille could materialize in my arms right now but unfortunately its just gonna be a fantasy, no different than a fantasy of being with any IRL woman, they are all equally as unreachable.

Very good question. I wouldn't call it depression but Its similar. That bitter-sweet feeling of reaching the end and seeing the story play out, everyone gathered around and happy. It gives me the feeling of going through this epic adventure and feeling happy but also sad because its basically a goodbye. It's like you never gonna see any of these characters again. And even though you can just replay the game again it won't feel the way it did on the first playthrough.
The first playthrough will feel like an experience/adventure, but after you finish the game and play it again it will lose that magic and will just feel like playing through a distant memory, it hard to explain it with words. But the last time a game really touched me emotionally was a couple of weeks ago when I finished FF XIII and before that Nier Replicant and Automata, the feeling stayed with me for a long time.
