That girls feel the way they do. An image of man has been marketed to them. Marketing seems to be more effective on women then men. They are such suckers for marketing its ridiculous. Aparantly in the 50s a guy with a 6 pack and tattoos was considered a freak. Handsome men were still a thing ofc but this generic image of the tattooed chad was created by marketing. The general basis of the idea being "it will cause people to spend a lot of money to attempt to look like this. "

A rule of thumb in marketing is that a sense inadequacy leads to more spending. The general goal of marketing is to present your product as the solution to this inadequacy.

Women have been complaining about this false body image thing for years but somehow failed to realise they subject men to it to an even greater extent.

So there has been a backlash against the marketing at women, but none against men. Plus size girls are now told they are beautiful. Short, atypical looking men are told to go die.

tLDR: an image of male beauty has been presented to women. Because they are so easily manipulated by the marketing, now only this image will do. They do not think outside the box (of what is advertised to them). In their minds, atypical appearance = ugly. But this is not natural. This is advertising and the conformity principle.

True. Hypergamy was inflated through social media.

I never even considered this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Nice post. I've been saying for years that women's vulnerability to scams and marketing is the reason feminism, fat acceptance, etc. has caught on. Also, because women are judged by how OTHERS feel about them (unlike men), they are more likely to give into trends and media influence to appear "cool" and to be accepted by their peers. If women were as critical men in their decision making, there would be no feminism, hypergamy, or ideal body image (either in men or women).

Cope
There are two angles to this.
First, you're not going to influence culture so this line of thinking is pointless and it's just coping.
Second, you're also wrong.
You're taking feminist rethoric and applying it to men. Fat acceptance may be a thing but no amount of brainwashing will make men attracted to it. Similarly, women wont be attracted to a framelet manlet. They only like Chad. That Chad might have a different coat of paint on him, IE a tattooed badboy. But that tattooed badboy is yesteryears man in uniform.
Hypergramy is about enabling women's natural tendencies not the other way around.
Even if you were born 200 years ago into arranged marriage deep in her whorish lizard brain shed desire Thundercock.
Sorry bud

This is it, women have been goaded by marketing into a relentless competition with each other. So concerned with what others think they set about trying to create this image of themselves that will impress the other women.

They have been told by tv and magazines what will give them this perfect image that will cause other women to promote her to Queen bee status. Constant exposure to advertising means this image is the same in the heads of almost all women.

Part of this image is Chad.

You strawmanned him.

*Where did he claim that he believes he can influence culture?

*Also he didn't claim that he or (anyone else) believes that men can be induced to desire fat women. He was merely pointing out the double standard that society frowns upon disparaging unattractive women but not unattractive men.

*He also conceded that women have always been attracted to handsome men but there was not a relentless media focus on male beauty as there is today. Women in earlier eras might have seen a handful of pictures and movies that had "chads" in them. Today a woman can see 2,000 shirtless pictures of chad in a facebook group, or Instagram in one afternoon. She can see youtube videos of male stripper shows and see "eligible bachelor" pics in women's magazines. Chad is ubiquitous today in media. You'd see him once in a while years ago and he had his shirt on. In fact there wasn't really much weightlifting then so even if he was shirtless, he wasn't the chad of today, all nutrition-supplemented and roided up in some cases

Where do I claim he claimed that? That's my conclusion. You're taking my conclusion and reasoning why it's pointless to think about and ultimately a cope and applying it to him.
My point was about the futility of it, I wasn't saying he's on some crusade to change stuff.

I was making a comparison. I was using an example to show that marketing doesn't work in overriding people's primal attraction. It's not markefing's fault women find people unattractive.

That's a different argument. Availability of Chad is another topic. Were talking about marketing being responsible. But then again, it's like a nationalist complaining about invention of airplanes. It's also cope. Having Chad available makes women's whore nature manifest.
Low iq post, you strawmanned me to the moon

Gigacope Low IQ thread. The man that women find sexy, is naturally and genetically determined. This is why marketers choose Chad with his symetrical face, strong chin, positive canthal tilt, hooded hunter eyes etc. Marketers could spend a billion dollars advertising obese men to femoids, and women would still want Chad.

Why then, in some cultures, is obesity considered attractive?

Think you’ll find this skewers your argument
