would you buy a milk box with the lid open? for all you know it might been there for months and maybe someone spite on it or worst. it's way better to get a fresh tightly sealed box of milk. t it does not matter how or why the seal was broken, it simply unsafe to drink it afterwards as you have no idea where it have been, the store clerk might say that it was broken in a bicycle ride and that nothing really happened to it and it is safe to drink, but for all you know he might be lying and actually had a hundred dicks inside it.
