the only kinds of people who'll live on colonies on the moon, mars or even venus will be the elite few.

meanwhile, the earth would be ruled by puppet rulers and the mindless masses will never leave the planet.
even if earth became severely polluted, or damaged by wars and conflicts or struck by meteorites.

i find sci-fi stories that have humans living in space and/or on the moon or other planets in colonizes are deeply unrealistic for this reason.

shit, as far as we know, the deep state probably already live on planetary and luna colonies right now, governing and controlling the earth and its people from space.

humans have been on this planet for millions of years, and yet technology and industry didn't come about until the mid-late 1800s.

No one will permanently live in other worlds, no matter what science fiction says.

Hell, just look at our neighbors in the solar system. No matter what we do to Earth, there's not anything we can do that would make our planet worse than the literal best of the other planets, Mars.

And travelling to other solar system will NEVER happen.
