Even though we have a much higher level of self-awareness compared to animals, we still act in similar ways. Animals will easily be trapped by food, while normies act like mindless zogbots, consooming the next big thing. Animals have to compete with others of their species to find a mate, meaning those with the best genes get to reproduce. As humans, many like to act like we aren't the same since we marry instead of fight for sex. In addition, we'd like to think we've left our wild roots for our modern society. Men don't rape women like in the caveman days, so that means we're civilized. However, women still control the keys to intimacy, so men still have to compete with each other for sex. What that means is men have lost their key to intimacy while women still have theirs so the playing field is unbalanced. Women get protected and supported by our modern society while keeping men in the struggle for sex- just like rabid animals dying to pass off their genes.
