I think very few people can understand this because from birth we are conditioned to listen to what people say and take their words as being at least somewhat true. So you have to actively train yourself against your conditioning to see what human beings truly are.

Most of what comes out of a human's mouth is a lie. They are biological machines programmed to do whatever they feel is good. For example, even parents will lie to their children and try to pressure them or brainwash them into having grandchildren, no matter if it's against their child's interests or capabilities.

Therefore, when interacting with a human or hearing what they have to say, we must stop listening to their words. We must immediately think about what they have to gain from saying those things, what their words seek to accomplish and how it makes them feel. And I must emphasize the word feel, because human beings love to believe they are rational, when in fact they are beings governed by their feelings and rationality is just a tool to get what their feelings dictate.

But people aren't stupid. They will use half-truths and various other techniques to gaslight you and manipulate you. Society as a whole is basically one huge mechanism full of weapons to control you and manipulate you to act against your own interests and according to those of others.

Thus, it's not only governments that operate this way, saying one thing and meaning and doing the exact opposite.

Look at catfishing. While it is deceitful and it definitely won't get a woman to be interested in you, look at how women react to it. When an incel tells them that they are only interested in looks, that Chad gets 100s of matches and he gets none, women STILL pretend that it's because of the incel's attitude and personality that she isn't interested in him. It's the perfect example of hypocrisy, mental gymnastics and lies, and yet normies defend this line of thinking and insist that looks have nothing to do with it. True. Foids are consumed by their emotions. Rationality is but a tool for them to try and justify their actions. But i dont think they are doing it intentionally. They are simply following their program like good little NPCs.

Exactly. Even the most "selfless and altruistic" people are doing it out of entirely selfish reasons. Be it out of fear of "karma", or "God", believing the universe will give back or any other type of justification, at the end of the day it boils down to selfish reasons. Truly selfless acts do not exist, and to be quite frank even selfless acts driven by selfish reasons are very rare. As a whole this is a very egoistical and cruel species.

It so happens that I just posted a Ayn Rand interview that addresses similar issues. Most notably, the interviewer at some point objected the Christian precept of "loving your neighbor".

Jesus Christ was a dumb, weak, naive idealist for whom crucifixion should have served as a harsh reality check. Unfortunately it rather made him a martyr.

"Love thy neighbor" is a naive precept because you can't love on command, and even if you could, that would just make you a dove in a world of hawks.
