i got a big projector which i mostly use for watching highly condensed 480p anime. i remembered there were two films i watched over and over again as a kid, Hulk and War of the Worlds(tom cruise).
so i found them. War of the worlds looked good, the tripods were just as cool but i didn't like anywhere as much as i did back then.
Hulk on the other hand, thats better than i remember, hell it succeeds Jacob's Ladder as my favorite film of all time. not only that i think it is the best film to watch on a projector, the whole film was built for HDR, all the desert scenes with military industrial settings and desert plants look awesome. i don't think it gets better than this, not even avatar comes close in looks.
on the 2008 hulk, the main complaint against 2003 was that there wasn't enough hulk in it and that 2008 fixed that, this is not true. hulk was in 2008 even less, it just felt better because 2003's main problem was that hulk only appeared 40m's into the film. also 2003's cgi is way better, rewatching 2008 i noticed the cgi was way worse than i remember.
but now we have mark ruffalo and he fucking sucks, we will never get another hulk film, that new captain america only happened because they refused to make a hulk film. godzilla comes close but it doesn't scratch the same itch.
