What inspired this thread is... for ages when I was younger I really had no idea what other guys were like around women. In some ways the sexes understand the opposite one more than their own.

So I didn't know how other guys speak to women or treat them or anything like that, particularly. Because I never really saw it. And that was to my detriment because my softy personality I think is often quite off-putting to women but I didn't even know that I *was* soft.

I guess what I'm saying is that understanding your competition tends to be a good thing!
