How to get my Microsoft laptop key?

I have a laptop that I bought years ago. I cant find the packaging and receipts anymore and the licence key is not written on the laptop.

Say for example if I want to install Windows 7 on a newer indows 10 laptop it will require my licence key and I dont have it because these newere laptops dont have the licence pasted on it.

What do I do now?

You can install windows 7 without a key and actually disable the thing that checks if it's registered. I did it for my grandma years ago

I've been in that situation a few times-- what I do is install a cracked version of Windows; it has an activator program that some dude in Eastern Europe wrote, which activates Windows without a license key.
