One of the worst periods of my life was 6 months being NEET in a back-of-beyond Australian town. This comment summarizes my opinion. I'm still at uni, but nothing beats getting home after a long day, absolutely braindead, because the effort you made took a toll on your energy levels. I usually get really depressed when i spend long periods of time at home, the vast amount of free time on weekends/vacations/holidays brings with them the awful consequence of remembering your situation as an unattractive male, making you feel like shit 24/7. Being a NEET has it's own advantages, but i simply can't cope with it. Besides, you get money for vacations/escorts/copes/tech.
I spent hours more than necessary rotting in bed, couldn't get a job, and my hair loss started in earnest.
Only copes were a library for books and walking around in the harsh environs.
Having a stable gig is much preferred. Allows me to dissociate myself for the sake of work and then self-actualize in the privacy of my apartment with money for various diversions.
