I am on a diet and I was expecting to lose 2lbs a week. I read that a pound of fat is 3500 calories so this seems more difficult than it sounds. To lose 2 pounds a week you need to be at a 7000 calorie deficit per week, that is 1000 per day. So if your body burns 2500 per day you need to be eating 1500 per day. That isn't as easy as it sounds, just one sandwich is close to 500 calories.
By the looks of things it is more realistic that it could take me 2 years to lose 100lbs if I lost a pound a week.
