How much do Youtube channels make?

For example, a channel with 100,000 subscribers averaging 500,000 views per month.

Sources on Google say that would make around $500 per month through ads, that seems kind of low though.

Does anyone know?

I think most youtubers get their money through things like patreon and getting paid to mention products in their videos.

Things may have changed but IIRC their model was that you needed a million channel views before you earned any money. Not a bad idea.
