What instrument do you play? how good are you? How much do you enjoy it?
Do you think it makes you more attractive?

I play guitar and I am not that good. I've fooled around with keyboard too. It doesn't make you attractive unless someone is already attracted to you

nowadays i only play keyboard but i used to play many

bass clarinet and tenor saxophone were my main ones, but i played all single reeds (plus anything else i could get ahold of)

I've played the violin for 14 years.

I'm alright at it

I used to enjoy it more than I do now

It doesn't change the attractiveness level. If chad played the violin it would make him look better, but for me nothing changes.

I've always wanted to

I used to play the Trombone

Does learning count? I'm trash at guitar, learning in your 30s is tough. 6 year olds learn it like a second language.

I used to play drums and all the mallets in high school. When I get my own place I want a drum set.

I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano, but I just never got around to it. It's also rather expensive.

Guitar for me but i suck fucking balls. Can any other self-taught guitarcels give any advice?? I'm frustrated about my progress

I would structure it like this

Absolute beginner: Just learn all the basic chords starting with the open ones (CAGED)
Beginner: Develop rhythm and changing between chords easily, learn songs you like and get a vague sense of how they are structured
Beginner-intermediate: Learn pentatonic scales starting with Eminor, then Aminor, Dminor, so on and so forth - play horizontally, vertically, diagonally (in two string boxes), learn basic music theory like relative major/minor and start soloing over backing tracks
Intermediate: Fully master bending in tune, vibrato and phrasing so when you solo you don't sound lame, be able to play 5-10 songs with minimal mistakes all the way through
Intermediate-advanced: Try to learn songs by ear and know what chords are in what key and what notes are where on the neck without thinking

I'm not very good though. I'm sort of intermediate

Damn thank you. Do i have to worry about gear at any point?? Like getting a certain amp or accessories ?
What do you think about practicing for specific music genres?? (I wanna do noise rock or jazz fusion)

I'm not super familiar with those tbh but when I hear "Noise Rock" I think of early Dinosaur Jr. Jazz fusion sounds really difficult

If you're new playing electric guitar I'd just get headphones and one of those Lekato plug in things just to practice.

Yeah dinosaur jr is close enough. Jazz fusion is easier than jazz on paper, because it's just classic rock rythmns with jazz chords (sometimes not even complex ones).
I'll consider your suggestions thanks

I tried to learn how to play guitar but I could never get the hang of it.

Wish I could play piano but that is for rich people only

Played piano and trumpet for a decade. Alright at them but not enough to actually hold a concert. I play couple times a year to deal with anxiety or stress.

I played the violin for my youth symphony but I rarely practiced so I didn't get far.

played the saxophone when i was younger

Damn lol i also used to play the clarinet when i was younger, you were a wind instrument guy? Cool lol

I can play on a drum set, piano, or some type of mallet instrument like a marimba

I had a clarinet as well that was kinda broken and cheap. a lot of the keys were a bit iffy

only really used it for marching band

bought it at the swap meet in 2001 for $45 lol

I'm poor and playing an instrument is for middle class snobs.

They generally have a learning advantage, especially over people who learn in their middle ages, but the notion that learning an instrument at a young age automatically produces a great player is untrue. Genetics influence musical ability far more than learning age does. I played guitar since I was six and was always poor at the instrument due to poor genetics. In school I was mogged by many students who started learning in their mid teen years purely because they had better genetics.

I'm goated on the xylophone.

Incel genetics won't even let you play an instrument, it's over.

What instrument do you play?
Electric guitar, electric bass guitar and drums.
how good are you?
I'm not a shredder but I never wanted to be a shredder or some kind of virtuoso either. I play relatively simple rock and metal-style tunes, so good enough for my purposes.
Do you think it makes you more attractive?
It makes me significantly less attractive. Whenever someone asks me what I do in my freetime it's as if something dies within them when I answer that I play music. A real face of disgust is what I get, and comments along the lines of "you do not look like the type of person who would do something like that". They are right about those comments, because this is what I look like:
Despite being 100% Swedish I come from a Dalit-tier lineage. A relative of mine did some genealogy research and found out that our ancestors were all either poor, homeless, asylum cases, petty criminals or some combination of those things. Literally going back hundreds of years with only those kinds of people among our ancestry. I am pretty much the Swedish equivalent to a Dalit.
12-tasks-asterix-screen.jpg

I would describe myself as the spitting image of Caius Tiddlus from The Twelve Tasks of Asterix. I am a shortcel, dickcel, facecel, voicecel, mentalcel and I have the worst gamer neck in the world. I guess the only thing that could really top it off is if I go bald as well, and I don't think that's impossible for me. There is nothing "aryan" about me except the fact that I have blue eyes.
Normies feel a visceral reaction against a truecel stepping out of line. They like to see us rotting, but I have never wanted to entertain those kinds of preconceived notions about how a truecel should be living his life.

Tell me some specific songs/tunes you want to learn to play (or types of songs/tunes you wish to create) and I can give you advice. It doesn't have to be here either, might be more suitable for you to send me a direct message about it.

when i was a kid i did.
Still i did it more bc of social pressure from my parents, didnt enjoy it that much

Thx for tagging

I learned playing piano for 3 years but my left hand wasn't able to play independently from my vision, I was able to read notes (ngl I can still but it's difficult for guitars)

Then I began playing bass when I was 17 when I thought it will be easier than classical/electric guitar - btw I have the one but I play rarely

never tried, tourettes

should i buy a guitar?

i can play the piano on a beginners level

I used to play piano. And that makes me look like a nerd shut-in who practices damn arpeggios all day

No guitar for your face.

Piano. But too depressed to play nowadays

Do you think it makes you more attractive?
My mom is a piano teacher and I’ve played piano since I was about four years old. I can play almost all of Bach’s repertoire. I went to a special arts high school and learned to play the organ as well. I think it is one of my only attractive qualities, however, it’s never helped me ascend and the only people who appreciate my playing are other musicians. Only old foids have complemented my playing. I love playing keyboards. It’s my favorite thing in the world. I get lost and the music and forget what a pathetic loser I am.

Is mayonnaise an instrument?
