I remember before the pandemic, we would all make little jokes like "normies wouldnt last a week in our shoes". And low and behold. The pandemic hits, they have to experience a fraction of the isolation and exclusion from society that we have to face throughout our entire lives and within just a few weeks I was hearing about suicide after suicide. Then came all the constant articles about how loneliness is bad. That people NEED human connection. That people need sex etc. I remember making a tweet about an article I saw. Could have written more platitudes in it but char limit. I'll post it below.

I thought the pandemic would help people understand our perpetual state of being unable to be a part of society. The constant isolation. Social distancing was nothing new to me. I'm ugly. I look like a walking disease, therefore people have been social distancing from me since I was a kid. Instead it was like they appropriated it. They just basically went "shush, fuck off, this is our problem now".
