has their always been a group of men who can't get girls through history or is being an incel a relatively new thing

Since humans became civilized. Civilization and technology always comes at the cost of health of its nation.

Since the dawn of time

Since the sexual revolution.

Inceldom was more common in the past. Polygamy was legalized in many historical nations.

For hundreds of thousands of years until they got tired of it and established patriarchy and civilization as we know it. Then, in the 1960's females regained their sexual power and since then inceldom has slowly but surely increased and will keep increasing.

I'm sure it always existed in some way but you probably had the be the elephant man to be a trucel. Another guy that comes to mind is Charles Steinmetz. There were guys like Tesla, Kodak, and Newton (and plenty of other scientists), who dedicated themselves to science and avoided women, I'm sure though women would have been happy to be with them.

Today with social media, feminism and the liberal climate it is a different world.

Honestly? All of human history.
