How effective is hanging in the woods from a tree? And can you do it painlessly?

Last year I picked out some spots deep in the woods on top of a mountain to potentially hang myself from where I wouldn’t be noticed. I was wondering how do I make it painless?

I’ve seen videos where the person loses consciousness in seconds. Are you gonna pass out quick regardless of the way the rope is placed on your neck? or do you have to constrict the carotid arteries to make it quick?

You either die instantly when your neck breaks, or can suffocate to death which is slower

Either way if you fuck up you can end up brain damaged and paralysed, so don't fuck it up

The part of the rope that connect to tree must be on the side of the neck to be the fastest.

From the back, like in old western movies, is the slow way.
