I have to shut down all form of distractions (computer, phone, tv) to properly concentrate on studying. This forum for example is a giant timesink if you want to get shit done.
Having some buddies at uni to do group study sessions is a good idea too, they can help you with stuff you don't understand but they might, but I know that not everyone here has those.
