Expert here. You do not approach women in 2017. The approaching meme is a leftover from patriarchy dates whenre men were asigned the role of the hunter and women the role of the prey. Nowdays, both sexes are hunters but since women are a minority with more dating options they are the ones who choose. Usually girls make the first move by asking you random stuff about your life until the convo escalates to making out and then sex.
