Discussion How did your parents/grandparents meet?

My grandpa told me that he and my grandma would send each other letters while he studied in uni and my grandma was in a different continent. Eventually he proposed to her by sending a letter asking if she wanted to get married and they both moved to the west. In today's age I just cant picture this happening it seems unreal to me. Instead of sending letters to my future wife, im in uni writing on incel forums.

Yep, replace Phillippines with Korea, then replace Australia with the United States and then you got my grandparents' story.

Grandparents: Typical mid-20th century village people. Not much contact with outsiders, almost everyone was marrying within the village. It was just a question of who marries whom.

Parents: a desperate, 30 year old (probably virgin at that point) subhuman male settles for a divorced (2 kids from the previous marriage), overweight, 32 year old foid with whom he works at the same workplace.

I can understand my grandparents' marriages, but my parents' relationship was a failure by design, both genetically and socially.
I don't have anything against ugly people having sex with each other, but they never should have been allowed to reproduce.
