I was too young to remember exactly how I was first exposed, but I first played Minecraft around the time of its release. I remember playing it on my dad's laptop and also playing it at a daycare I went to with the daycare owner's son. I was obsessed with the game and exclusively played it.

It was chinese ripoff of nintendo system that could run old mario games and that game where you shoot ducks in a game with real gun
The very first games I played were PC games made for little kids that my father had in compact disks. Then, later, he downloaded better games on the new computer, like Extreme Tux Racer. But I didn't play these often. What made me a "gamer" was the Nintendo DS and then Wii that my grandma bought for me and my brother. She knew that we'd like it, after all our older cousin from her side of the family had to repeat a year in school because he never studied and only played videogames all day.
When i was a kid in very early 2000s i first played on Nintendo clone while visiting family friends and another time also played on either PS1 or PS2 in Driver series. But the game that actually blew my mind was GTA Vice City when i visited neighbors' home around 2003-2005

I was 4 mate, my brain had never listened to something like this before. Nah but yeah it is very soothing later on in life I would let it play for hours at night just to hear the waves. Many great memories

I remember hearing it for the first time at one of my cousins, who'd always get the latest consoles.
Every time he'd turn it on, I'd enjoy those sounds, just for him to quickly put a disc inside and game on.
As a kid I was somehow ashamed of liking this more than the games.
