The great thing about these incidents of people hitting their heads and becoming savants is that it means that it's possible, in theory, to turn anyone into a genius by simply tinkering with their brain. Still, savant intelligence tends to be very specialized which leaves them lacking in other areas of intelligence, so it might just be a trade-off of skills.
