Where I live housing is so expensive. It sucks that either way you lose.

Options are continue to live with family with zero comfort or freedom. Hate it but cheap.

Live with a roommate, meh was fun in my 20s but nothing appealing about it right now.

Save 5 years for a down payment to buy a shit house I don’t like.

Save 5+ years for down payment for house I actually like.

Rent an apartment for minimum $1,000.

Save 1-2 years for a condo that is ok but not ideal. Tbh this is my most likely option. If I save a year or 2 I could hopefully get a condo with mortgage under $800-900. Meanwhile I will save money to move to my desired city and state which is about 1,200 miles away.
