The trend of running and hiding from scary monsters in horror games gets old quickly. What's more stressful and scary is having to actually face and fight monsters/ghosts.

Hiding in a closet for a minute isn't scary nor is it good gameplay. It's a waste of time

Yeah, horror games with guns, like RE, have far more replay value since you can replay it using different weapons and tactics.

Games like Outlast, while scary, have only one way to play them.

If you have weapons but like, they don't do much damage, is the best compromise.

Strongly disagree. The only combat ability I want in horror games is the one that gives you temporary protection from the monster. Like how you can fight the alien in Alien Isolation.

i agree. I started calling horror games walking simulators bc of it. There is still one brand of really scary scare from walking, its when something is chasing you directly behind you and you cant stop, but other than that, if theres no combat i dont really care.

Not a full blown horror game, but the Librarians in Metro gave me cold sweats
