Back when I was growing up, it was perfectly normal for parents to beat their kids, at least within certain limits. I got beat by both of my parents and I never went around saying I was "abused" because I clearly wasn't.

These days you have zoomers going around saying they were "abused" because their parents took away their iphone or yelled at them.
