I am pissed beyond belief!!
The book in question is Cracking the Coding Interview, one of the most famous and best-selling programming books. I read the first few pages and the author wrote about interviewing people in 1999, and about the author's years of experience interviewing hundreds of people, and how the author semi-retired from Google to teach classes at the University of Washington. I thought "the author of this book must be really experienced", and I imagined him being some white haired 55yo man. Then I noticed the author of the book was named "Gayle Laakmann" and thought "was this book written by a woman, or is this just a guy that has a woman's name?" I looked her up and yes, she was a woman, and she wrote the book in 2008 which means she was just 24 when she wrote the book - two years younger than myself.
