and only after being TOLD that they were a victim and how traumatic it would be. At the time, and in the future assuming a society which supported or was indifferent to under 18 relationships, they would be completely fine. Telling these people that they're victims seems to do much greater harm than the act itself.
Now, I don't advocate for child relationships, meaning prepubescent, and especially not with someone who is in a position of care or trust with them. I do, however, support girls with slightly older guys (say, a 14 year old girl with a 24 year old guy) in an ideal society, but say that did happen and the girl was fine - I mean, I don't know what would be so traumatic unless there was abuse - why does she need the entire world spluttering in her face about how she's a victim and how this was a traumatic experience and she was raped and should never trust a man again? These are the things which will fuck up her mind and lead to poor mental health (whatever that means these days, anyway), not the relationship in the first place.
But that makes me think about what the correct but also realistic course of action would be in our society (where these relationships are illegal anyway) if people didn't make the girl a victim. Surely prosecuting the guy for a victimless crime would be unjust. Of course, it'd be a lot easier if guys just didn't have age gap relationships with the 'arbitrary
magical number 18' girls, or if society encouraged or tolerated it (we don't really need to encourage it in our society; girls can make their own living or leech off the government or cucks, so there's no need to get married while young).
Of course, guys are never going to stop "grooming" these girls, so our current approach to it is kinda just mitigating the number of times it happens, while amplifying the damage it does when it can actually be a positive experience. At the moment, it's happening to fewer people, but the effects are much greater and always negative (prison time for the guys if the girl under 14 or whatever the age of consent is locally, negative stigma and perceived or socially implanted trauma for the girl). In our largely left wing society, wouldn't it be right to distribute it and spread thinner the 'trauma' of these age gap relationships?
TL;DR: Pretty much the title and the first sentence. Also, to solve this, we should tolerate age gap relationships.
