Hitler wanted their land, of course it wouldn't have been politically expedient to label the Poles as a brother peoples. This applies to all slavic peoples in general because Germany needed their land as lebensraum to be self sufficient in any future conflict and didn't want to to share it with the already existing slavs who were meant to be replaced by Germans. It's much easier to justify replacing them if you don't categorize them as a closely related ethnicity to your own and thus aren't worthy of aryan status which would've entailed privileges and protections.
Even if all genetic and archeological evidence points to slavs having copious amounts of aryan blood, Germany wanted their land and resources so they would've ignored this because it gets in the way of justifying their takeover of slavic lands. So they remedied this issue by portraying them as non aryan subhumans who deserved to have their land taken since it's easier to give warrant for this expansion if they depicted slavs as non aryans and thus not entitled to protections and privileges Hitler thought peoples with aryan descent should receive.
