i'm still ages 0-2. yes i've learned to take care of myself in a superficial sense but I never developed human level emotional capacity. Basically just "baby hungry" "need sex" "baby need sleep" which makes interpersonal relationships really hard. surprisingly i've only been able to form social bonds around addictions/substance-oriented copes such as pot, porn, alcohol and obsessive gaming. i suspect extreme neglect and emotional abuse as an infant and child generates the personality disorder.
the bootstrapped persona/mask halted in high school, exactly like you said. which makes even superficial connections with coworkers or classmates strained, highly temporary and often abusive.

I guess I got lucky. Most of my bullies died, in fact I saw one of them get paralyzed on a motorcycle right in front of me. He hit a tree head on going 60+ mph. He died a few months later. I still enjoy reading my bullies obituaries years later.
