Sorry I should have added the banana needs to be nice, firm and ripe.

Monkeys prefer bananas that don't mush on crank as it shows them it's ready for eating with maximum goodness and they don't like the end bits.

I bought some bananas yesterday and I've cranked them okay but in a couple of days they will mush up on crank which means they are past optimum nutrition.
