I dont think its either of those. There are many kinds of intelligence:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_of_multiple_intelligences
And having a superior linguistic and logical intelligence (the only ones that an IQ test actually tests) doesn't mean that you have even an average interpersonal and intrapersonal ones. In other words, having the capacity of solving academic problems doesnt mean that you can solve the rest of the real world problems, specially those related to motivation and socializing.
Also (free blackpill for studycels) it has been demonstrated a hundred times that the socials and the existential intelligences are directly related to personal well being and happiness, while the academic ones arent. A grat mathematician could be happy, or not. But a very extroverted person is probably happy. Also demonstrated that a high social inteligence is the best way to secure high social status, best income and best self satisfaction. Also demonstrated that those with high IQ (again, logical + linguistic) are usually employees of those with high social intelligence.
Basically, IQ is mostly useless, and its true that a high IQ is a maladaptative trait in most cases due to the lack of balance, specially the real high ones, which are impossible to balance. Its only satisfaction comes from purely cognitive advantages: you know how the world works better than someone with less IQ (given same education). But knowing how the world works (at least in your field) doesnt mean that you know how to interact with it, manipulate it to your advantage and rise above the competitors in the real social world. The real deal would have been having a high IQ and ALSO above average levels of intelligence in the rest of them.
Thats why you
because you are.
Im an aspie so i know how it feels. I can read anything and understand it, i can explain things in an academical context with moderate success, but im almost unable to sustain an spontaneous conversation irl. I am socially retarded.
And thats why the powerful people now and in the past dont have any special intelligence, specially not high IQ (despite what Plato might think). None of their single intelligences stands out. Instead, all they have is an above average level of intelligence in every single one of them, a nice balance within them, the right education, training and experiences, and a lot of luck. And, of course, looks.
Same. I could have written a couple of books by now and my PhD... if i had the motivation. But, why would i try to solve from a new philosophical perspective problems that are as old as the human race if i know that im basically helping an species that hates me? I prefer not to. I prefer not to collaborate with the current intelligentsia for the same reason i dont recycle my trash or give money to female beggars. I just hate my species and i prefer to be a burden rather than a helper.
