I wonder what is the scenario for a Nigerian with 100 IQ (IQ 60s-80s) against the average Korean (IQ 100-110s), assuming that they are trying to compete in their own homeland.
Let's assume that one has to have 105 IQ to become an engineer; the skills are universal; calculating the material of angle of a mud hut in Nigeria or a steel beam in Korea takes the same IQ.
One may assume that the average Korean may have better chance to become an engineer, that may be true, but you are also competing with many smart people, thus you have to be smarter than them to secure the job.
On the other hand, if you are an average Nigerian, you probably don't have the baseline intelligence to become an engineer. But if you have 100 IQ, you would be able to become an engineer, but this is diluted by the fact that the infrastructure that lets you be educated/hired is generally very poor due to low average IQ.
My conclusion is: it would generally be better to be average in a high IQ country due to living standards. But remember: in the land of the bline, the one eyed man is the king.
