After reading the thread by @thelonewanderer discussing getting virgin shamed on 4chan, it occurred to me that I'd probably have never joined this forum if I hadn't witnessed the near constant virgin shaming present on that site.
Seriously I would've stayed there just browsing /a/, r9k/, and /v/ if normies hadn't overrun the site over the past few years and begun using "virgin" as an insult even there. It became clear to me that I wasn't welcome there, that 4chan belongs to normies now. If you want men like us to stop obsessing over our virginity, then as a society you should stop going out of your way to remind us of it, and cease the outright mocking of male virgins.
I wouldn't really think about my virginity if the shaming, glorification of sex in all forms of western media, and having to witness foids in public displaying their bodies in a manner not entirely divorced from prostitutes didn't force me to think about it.
