The gaming manuals issue a warning that permanent hearing loss may occur if headsets are used at high volume, advising to set the volume to a 'safe level'. I like to play games at higher volume with earphones at night, anything lower just doesn't sound as immersive. Guns don't sound as satisfying for instance at low volumes.
Apparently, increasingly loud audio may sound normal over time but can actually be damaging to our hearing. This can cause ringing, discomfort and muffled speech which is an indicator for hearing loss.
This is obviously concerning as many of us use a headset, especially at night when there's neighbours around our apartment. It begs the question, what is 'safe' volume exactly, I'm assuming its about a quarter volume level which makes the game sound piss weak tbh
