brutal Tears are made up of a mixture of water, proteins, lipids, and electrolytes. They help lubricate the eyes, remove debris, and provide nutrients. The main components of tears include:

1. Water (H₂O) – The majority of tears consist of water to keep the eyes hydrated.

2. Electrolytes – Such as sodium (Na⁺), potassium (K⁺), and chloride (Cl⁻), which give tears their slightly salty taste.

3. Proteins – Including lysozyme (an antibacterial enzyme), lactoferrin (which helps fight infections), and immunoglobulins (for immune defense).

4. Lipids (Oils) – Produced by the meibomian glands to prevent tear evaporation and keep the eye surface smooth.

5. Mucins – Produced by goblet cells in the conjunctiva, these help spread tears evenly across the eye.

Tears come in three types:

Basal tears (constant lubrication)

Reflex tears (triggered by irritants like smoke or onions)

Emotional tears (caused by strong emotions, containing additional stress hormones and endorphins) pill :feelscomfy:
