I recently watched it
Dam is the most boring movie i have ever seen. It was too slow, even to be a 60's movies
The point i give it is that it that there was an accurate representation from space, which even today is enough good

I liked it, but it's definitely an acquired taste

Insane that Kubrick came up with that "white space" aesthetic in 1968 - Star Wars and a lot of other space media owes a lot to it

i read the book and watched the movie, they're pretty good, maybe the book is a little better, less staring at nothing happening.

i know some people like this movie for no apparent reason beyond pretentiousness

can recall my university math professor really being into this movie without being able to explain why, certainly hadn't read the book, or knew anything about computers and information technology despite being a math professor

i think that old retard's attitude seemed to be something like "this is an old vintage movie, like an old vintage wine... marvelous..."

Yes, multiple times since I was a kid. I love the visuals, but other than that I don’t consider it to be a masterpiece like some do. It’s definitely not Kubrick’s greatest film imo.
