I used to smoke a bit, for a while when I had a convenient source. When that convenient source left town, I didn't miss weed enough to try to find another source.

I enjoy the high, and no hangover is nice.

It is ridiculous that weed is illegal while alcohol is positively celebrated in our culture. People smoking weed causes so much less harm than people drinking cause, there is no comparison.

But there were several downsides for me:

1. It's too unpredictable, my source liked CBD varieties which I really enjoyed, but he also liked AK47 which was a sativa which used to cause hellish anxiety. Imagine being wired on coffee at midnight, and then realizing you made a terrible mistake in your work 2 weeks ago that you're going to have to tell your boss about. Like that.
2. Sometimes it would cause me awful headaches that go on for the entire next day.
3. Cops here seem to treat it like it's the crime of century. And they're trying to bring in roadside drug testing checkpoints for drivers... I would never drive wasted, but I don't want to smoke something on Friday night, and then get arrested the following Thursday for "testing positive for cannabis your honour!"
4. I just like a drink more...
