A lot of ugly guys are basically forced to be jesters. Constantly having to make jokes, often self-deprecating ones too. They make jokes often, it's like that's the only way for them to be heard and not ignored. Otherwise they end up being the other kind of ugly guys, the outcasts, who are seen as "creepy loners" and made fun of or even bullied. I used to be a huge jester too, but iirc that was not for foids but more as a protection mechanism from bullying.

And so a thought entered my mind. I've never actually seen a Chad be a jester. Sure, some make jokes, usually getting much better laughs than ugly guys of course. But they aren't jesters, if they crack a joke it's rare and usually with other Chads or Stacies (probably at someone's expense too).

I guess they never HAD to make it a part of their personality, so they didn't. If anything, being a jester would've diminished their status. Social dynamics are complicated.

We went to places together and he'd be kind of stupidly jestering for attention - and of course, he'd get it from everyone. We aren't friends anymore because he's a dick and a social leech.
