Apparently the phrase soda pop got split into just "soda" in the US and "pop" in Canada, not sure why.

I'm sure lots of friendzoned beta orbiters end up doing this type of thing for their oneitis.

It's not something I ever remember feeling close enough to a girl to do. She'd probably think it was sexual harassment or something.

Everyone else says soda. It was originally a northeast U.S. thing. "Canada" is more culturally alingned with the midwestern U.S. where they say pop over there.

Yeah, that's in upstate NY so "Canadian" culture has prevalence there.
