I believe that I have dated two men that could potentially be incels. The first was a predator I dated online. But I remember he’d talk a lot about how upset he was to be a virgin in his early 20s. It made him resent women.

And I mean he brought this up a looottt- many of our early conversations were about how lonely and depressed and suicidal and desperate he was.. because of his virginity. Also about how several women have wronged him. He never called himself an incel, but I think it was pretty obvious.

Years later, after some reflection, I thought to myself, “wtf, was he an incel?!” Cuz I’ve never met anyone who is so burdened by being a virgin other than these very misogynistic men.

Then there’s my most recent ex- who idk if he is an incel but definitely follows some of that ideology… as it has become mainstream. I remember hed bitch a lot- and I mean a lot about how awful women nowadays are.

He said he had a lot of trauma with women so I chalked it up to that. But hed rant about how women are all narcissistic these days, women at the gym all dress like whores, women only care about money and using men, just all of these awful generalizations that aren’t true.

He said in the past (like over a decade ago) that he was interested in MGTOW, but he said that was before it became an incel thing? Idk.

One thing both of these guys had in common is that they hated women but never admitted it directly. They just acted like they didn’t fully understand feminism and were critical of it.
