When I first started college years ago I was even more socially awkward than I am now and I thought the girls in college would be different than the cunts in my school and that they'd see me as good looking.
One of the classes I was in we got put in groups of like 6 or 7. One of the girls in the group was asking if everyone was single or in a relationship for some reason. A few of the people said yes and no but when it came to me and I said no, this loudmouth guy who wasn't exactly a chad but was popular due to his arrogance and big mouth sarcastically said "Just taking it easy aren't you. Playing the field. Spoilt for choice. HAHA!". I just dropped my head and he looked a bit guilty. The girl in the group who started the conversation tried to help my by saying "Really? I thought you would definitely have a girlfriend.". But it was too late.
I think if it was now I would've cracked the guy but I wasn't as big as I am now.

Yep I remember specifically in college guys would seem to say things like this. Not just me they seemed to do things like this to other quiet guys too but in general quiet guys = unattractive guys. I remember another guy sarcastically saying that a girl likes me and she would go "eeeeewww shutup!", things like that. But again that happened to other guys too.
At the time because I was deluded into thinking that I was good looking I thought that these comments were either real or wondered what context they were in. Now I understand.

Yes. It's happened quite a few times, but it happened most recently a few weeks ago, when I got into an argument in class with someone and he said "this is why nobody likes you and why no girl wants to be with you". Just completely out of the blue and I didn't have a good comeback to it. Usually would happen when I played school sports my freshman and sophomore year
