Don't go if you're too rich, really White, don't know a little Spanish, or are a celebrity. And also don't go alone. Go with atleast one other person, suggested 2 or 3 tbh ngl. And don't go out at night by yourself. If you are White, then try not to act like a stereotypical white person. Don't piss off anyone, even if they seem like they couldn't do anything to you. Don't brag about your trip on social media. Don't go out into the countryside, especially at night. Watch out, mexico is very supernatural and shit.

Relatives of mine have been there, I was never taken with them. Heard only stories from it. There are some good places there for sure, want to see the Cueva de las Serpientes Colgantes tbh (an interesting place where there are cave-dwelling rat snakes and also blind cave fish) for example; on the same Yucatan peninsula you can also see the crater where the meteorite struck that killed the dinosaurs. It's also a good place when you like iguanas and anguids (especially aboreal alligator lizards and other gerrhonotines). The mountains/high lands are especially beautiful - seen footage from emigrants.
My relatives showed me pictures of baby turtles that they touched there and everything with the temples (there were many black iguanas/ctenosaurids in the ruins) - they staid there for roughly ~2 weeks. Also JBW might work there and the food was described as great. But on the other hand you might end up on a gore site if you are unlucky. I would only ever travel there with company (without it it's a suicide mission). Everything in Middle or South America is beautiful on paper, but it isn't worth the risk because it's a crime-infested shithole (my own opinion).
The same reason why I would never go to Costa Rica and Panama despite finding the landscapes and animals there beautiful. Google "Missing girls of Panama" and other shit to go down the rabbit hole when it comes to tourism (same reason why I will never travel to Australia due to Ivan Milat and his killings or SEA due to many tourist killers like Charles Sobhraj and "The Tourist From Hell").
Just get brutally killed by cartel members theory, go there if you want to become famous on gore sites

Am very skeptic of the world in general, too much fucked up shit happens. Of course much of these cases are isolated cases a few years back then, but they show you why skepticism is an absolute necessity. Nearly 99.9% of people will always be safe, but for the rest it can quickly turn into a nightmare. Like with shark attacks, to be really safe you have to stay on land but this also means that you lose a lot of "fun", whether the "fun" is work the risk is up to the individual to decide.
For Mexico: They have/had serial killers there with body counts in the hundreds like Juarez Ripper and also the cartels, but they mostly don't affect tourists because they occur in entirely different regions affected by poverty/drugs that aren't shown to the tourists and prey on low-status victims most of the time.
But there a still some individual cases of Mexico holidyas turning into a complete nightmare even for affluent tourists that are typically low-risk victims: Especially brutal was also the Murder of Mark Kilroy. He was an American tourist that was sacrificed there by the cult of Adolfo Constanzo (a "magician" in the service of the cartels), they needed the brain of an intelligent person for a ritual and decided to take his because he was a sucessful student. This was also the case that shattered the illusion of safety for many Americans because he was just celebrating Spring Break there like all other normalfags.

In Mexico: Drugs mainly. Another beautiful problem that these free spirits in the 70's created. What a wonderful generation with such great inventions as limitless freedom without responsibilities for the sake of freedom (like free love). How well they work can be seen nowadays in the West (with rising suicides/growing isolation/etc.) and in the poorer countries that make the bloated carcass of the West afloat.

Mexico is a great vacation spot, lots of freedom. You can drink in public, stuff is cheap for food and drink and many stuff to see. Just stick to the tourist areas though. Also good prostitutes there I have heard.
