Hate is more real. It’s more potent, more satisfying. People who are unable to hate are missing out the most important thing in life. How foolish they are, how big their cope is. With hate on their side they would enrich themself and live the best life.

apathy is far more different to hate than love is. if hate is the opposite of love than apathy has to be its middle ground, which can't be true.
when you love someone you want what's best for them, when you hate them you want what's worst for them or you want them dead. A much better opposite of someone wanting something for you is not wanting anything for you altogether, which is apathy

I mean, hate also protects you against things. I hate alcohol use myself but I don't think drinking in moderation should be wiped off the face of the Earth (although alcoholics should certainly be sterilised to prevent what happened to people like @StoicNihilist from happening anymore).
yes unless there is some sort of designated opposite to it like night and day (rotation of the Earth), but love and hate aren't necessarily polar opposites in my opinion. I hate certain things because I love certain things, or at least I love what they could have been. Is being sad the opposite of being angry?

yeah I see what you're saying and it could work if you isolate the one variable love and hate have in common, namely passion, and only compare them on that basis compared to the absence of passion (apathy). As for your second line of reasoning, I'm not sure a codependency necessarily entails not being polar opposites. Not to get all Tumblry, but darkness is the absence of light so in sense light is codependent on darkness in order to exist or have any meaningful definition in the first place, does that not make them opposites?
