Has anyone read Georges Bataille 'The Accursed Share'?

In The Accursed Share (1949), Bataille presents a theory of the "General Economy." He argues that standard economics (both Neoclassical and Marxist) focuses too much on scarcity. Instead, he suggests that the main problem of life is actually excess energy (wealth, solar energy, surplus) that must be expended—either gloriously (arts, non-productive sexuality, festivals) or catastrophically (war).
