The dark web is probably the most overly mystified thing that exists. 80 percent of it is just dead links. Most of the other 20 percent are fake drug websites that will just take your crypto and send you nothing, fake hitman sites, and the occasional unoriginal corny ass ARG/creepypasta bullshit. I've never found any remotely active forums/communities, the only ones I've found were almost completely dead. Red rooms aren't a thing and never were. There are no super secret hacker communities that will teach you how to be a super duper russian hacker. Almost all of the deepweb stories you've read were lame, made up creepypastas that only an autistic redditor would believe.

When it’s only $50-$100 of pills it’s not a huge risk if you end up getting scammed, and thousands of people are buying so unlikely you get tracked down by some internet hijacker.
I probably would not trust purchasing a $30,000 hit man service off of there though
