Has anyone here legally changed their name?

What are things to know ahead of time? Can people find it if you changed your name?

I’m just asking since I’m considering doing this one I move out of my family’s house.

I plan on doing this is the future, this may sound weird but I genuinely don't want anything to do with my dad's name so I plan on changing my last name to my mother's lineage

I have. Takes a while to change everything associated with your name, which can be a hassle. Government agencies know that you have changed it, I don't think the general public can fiind out tthough. You just need your origioinal birtth certificate, passportt etc

May I ask why? Just curious
