Here's something you can do while you're bored without any technical skill. Basically, find any site that'll send you email (registration, subscription, more info, etc) and includes a user controlled field (ie name, username) in the email. Then put whatever message you want in the name field and put the victim's email. They'll receive the email, open it and see your nice message. Bonus points if the name field is displayed in the email subject for instant viewing. You can find email addresses to target from colleges, realtors, schools, etc. It is also easy to script this and cause mass chaos.
