Just under half (47 per cent) are sticking it out because they have children together, and one in four even worry what others would think of them, were they to divorce.

The study also found 35 per cent of those polled often argue with their spouse, while a huge 51 per cent believe there is ‘no romance’ in their relationship.

A further 45 per cent bemoan the lack of sex in their marriage, with more than one in five NEVER getting intimate between the sheets.

This is why I hate the lie of "happiness".
The worthless notion that people have to be 100% content with jobs/life/romance is a lie, (almost) nobody will ever be 100% content/happy - at least not for a long time, habituation/adjustment will quickly destroy almost everything you once deemed special, routine will almost always settle in.

This lie leads to most women/attractive men chasing shadows in the sense of unreachable ideals/archetypes of a partner while most of the rest gets left behind - and even if those with the privilege to choose get something near perfection the satisfaction will almost never last, because most of the time the question "Can I do better remains?", doing shit out of love means doing shit out impulses and almost every impulse will be (like everything ephemerous) destroyed by time.

Love should have never been "unbound"/"free", 100% happiness is an impossibility and in the long term implementing that lie hurt everyone and only lead to the propagation of unsuitable ways to live due to an absence of natural selection in the presence of social welfare.

The study is right my parents were together for 20 years before they got divorced, however they didn't share the same bed for the like the last 14 of them
