Depends on how aggressive your balding is. If you are a NW3 and your hairline hasn't budged in the last couple of years then you might be fine, however if you're steadily losing hair all across the head it is.

ive been nw2-3 for years , its still going but just in the temples
the density on the rest of the head seems fine

Can work especially if the hair loss is slow. What baldingcels also fail to realize is that balding != NW7. For many individuals balding stops at NW3-NW4 and then remains like that for many years to come. Best thing is to go to a dermatologist and get your follicles checked in terms of miniaturization. Derm has this camera for checking the skin surface and you can spot the miniaturization pattern. At NW2-3 I would still consider taking finasteride as it halts hair loss and often simulates a regrowth (dead hair follicles don't come back to life, but those miniaturized get freed from androgenic suppression and regain thickness).

I only noticed it now. Finasteride isn't a tranny drug. It's a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor which blocks the enzyme, thus preventing the conversion from testosterone into dihydrotestosterone - the androgen most binding to the hair follicles and biggest culprit in male pattern hairloss. While it is true it has side effects those are not that common and are reversible with discontinued use (despite fear mongering online).

Im incredibly unlucky
I would probably get it , or get the symptoms even with a placebo after reading all the horror stories ( real or not)

Even if the hairloss progresses , cant i just get a body hair transplant instead?

Going by this logic your transplant may not be a success, you can get an infection and transplanted hairs can fall out. I haven't heard anybody getting transplant from their chest to their head, but I guess transplant surgeon will answer all your doubts.
