Men are expected to have strict dress codes. If you wore something other kids found "cringe", "corny" or "inappropriate", you would've been bullied both physically and mentally by fellow kids and the only one at fault being you. You could wear some anime shirt back in the day, and that would prompt every ogremaxxed sports athlete to beat you to a bloody pulp, yet nobody ever found a problem with it.
They would justify it by claiming it was you, the cringe kid, for wearing something "inappropriate", making them have to "punish" you for it. If you reverse the genders, suddenly then it becomes a rapist pig mentality, but only for women. You're allowed to treat a guy like a threat for dressing like one, but the second you try to reserve the genders, the FBI, CIA and the united nations of Oofy doofy will be right behind the doors to send you back to the slammer.
In their mind, acting/dressing weird was enough of a reason to get beaten to submission for daring question social order, but also at the same time none of these rules apply to women. Women can dress however they want and do whatever they want and no one is allowed to speak back against it.
I'm not going to rape a whore the second I see her naked. I'm not an animal. But it's absolutely moronic how these "empathetic" creatures can sprout equality for both sexes, yet never stand up for guys who got bullied for the way they dressed.
